This year's Combined Industries Theft Solutions (CITS) Conference, Fraud-The Elephant in the room, is being sponsored by the CEA's CESAR Scheme. The will be held at the impressive Royal Bank of Scotland building at 250 Bishopsgate, London on Friday 24th November.

The award winning official CESAR Scheme, owned by the Construction Equipment Association (CEA), and powered by Datatag ID Limited has made a valuable contribution to reducing plant theft by over 70% in its 10 years. Early CITS conferences focused on equipment theft but more recently, reflecting crime trends, the CITS board has addressed cybercrime.

This year's CITS conference, as the title suggests, will address fraud, as this is now recognised as being the biggest threat to businesses whether perpetrated by individuals or organised criminal gangs.

The methods employed in fraud are varied and range from simplistic to complex; yet the weakest link can in fact be individual employees. The conference will offer delegates information and advice on how to protect themselves as well as their businesses.
Kevin Howells, MD of Datatag, will present crime prevention methods and advice around protecting physical assets, still an area of great concern.
