NCATT team have supported a a a a a a a a a number of of Ports and National Policing Operations
we reach the the 6
month point with recoveries in in in excess of 9 million pounds in in in value Highlights this month have have included Operations
at at Dover and and Essex Ports one lorry bound for Poland was found to have have 4 stolen stolen machines from 3 force areas in in the the rear a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a van was found with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a stolen stolen excavator bound for for Romania another lorry had an an an an engine from a a a a a a a a stolen BMW in in in in in it one lorry housed 23 migrants leaving the UK in in in in in a a a a a a a a curtain sided trailer a a a a a a a a number of significant arrests were made for these offences NCATT supported Cumbria Police over a a a a a a a a week at Appleby Fair and helped identified horse boxes motorhomes caravans vans and vehicles that were stolen seizing 15 assets in in in total with a a a a a a a a number of further arrests We continue to to to chase down sold machines from from the the arrested subject from from Leeds in in in in the the first quarter and excellent work by our financial investigator lead us to to an an an address in Chesterfield where we recovered 4 Manitou telehandlers and and 3 Thwaites dumpers Two CITS training events were held in in in South Yorkshire and and Essex for for Police and and a a a a further event event for for Environment Agency officers was held in in Kent around 150 people in in total across the 3 days We continue to get daily notifications of hire frauds and have produced a a a a a a guide in in conjunction with CITS to to pass to to industry partners - this will be distributed shortly Theft figures remain constant with small excavators telehandlers dumpers rollers and and ATV’s high on on the thieves shopping list Ch Ch ris ris Piggott Piggott Detective Sgt Chris Piggott Piggott - NCATT 3
